An unique and celebrated musical collaboration featuring some of Trinidad’s greatest artists ever.
In 1969, two of Trinidad’s most renowned and legendary artists collaborated to create music, and to produce an album that was to become a musical milestone and a cultural phenomenon.
Pan Am North Stars Steel orchestra, led by steelpan pioneer and legend Anthony Williams, and celebrated world famous pianist Winifred Atwell would produce an unique and beautiful blend of the two musical media that is unparalleled to this day.
Using pans specially tuned by master pan tuner Anthony Williams for the occasion, the two disparate elements blended together so perfectly that at times it is difficult to identify the different instruments.
Here in it’s entirety is their unique musical creation, the album. “Ivory And Steel”.
This playlist is the entire album , and the tunes are as follows:
1) Claire De Lune
2) Grieg’s Piano Concherto in A minor, Op. 16 (1st Mov.)
3) The Wedding
5) Rhapsody in Blue
6) The Devil’s Daughter
