A Teddy Bear’s Picnic
Good day friends.
Today I’m recalling one of my earliest musical memories, the very first time I saw and heard a musical record player.
I remember that it may have been my very first day at school, probably January 1951 at St Paul’s Anglican in San Fernando.
The teacher brought to the classroom one of those portable hand crank RCA gramophones ( something like the one pictured) that played 78” recordings , and played the tune “A Teddy Bear’s Picnic “.
That incident and piece of music were forever implanted in my brain.
An unforgettable early memory!😊
