OTIS REDDING
One of the positives of being of a certain age is the wealth of our memories .
Today I’m remembering how much my friends and I loved soul music, and in my case particularly the soulful music of the great Otis Redding.
Otis died at only 26 , very young and yet he left us so much beautiful music .
Redding’s breakthrough came after his performance at the Monterey Pop Festival held in June 1967, but unfortunately by the end of the year he had passed away, in a plane accident.
I remember that I wept when I heard of his passing on that December day in 1967, and his music still touches me deeply to this day.
